Interesting Band

Always been a big fan of Alison Krauss and felt that her voice is one of the most beautiful female voices in the world. There is a new band out called Crooked Still that we recently found... and I gotta say, this girl is even better (just an opinion of course). The singer's name is Aoife O'Donovan pronounced "eef-uh" and their sound is high and lonesome...

Feeding The Pets

We recently had a group of ducks swing by the boat, and tossed them some crackers. Now they've visited the boat several times a day, and seem to be a regular show whenever one of us walks down the dock to the boat. We'll see how long they stick around.

Our Potato Cannon Video

Here's a video of some spud launching.

So after talking about it for months we finally took a trip down to the hardware store and purchased the plumbing supplies necessary to assemble a spud cannon. Max and Noah (with some instruction) primered and glued all the peices together and after letting it set up for part of the day, we took it out on the water and gave it a try.

We can launch a potato about the length of a football field.

Max decides to kayak

Sunday Max and Noah decided to paddle up the river in the dinghy and explore. After that Max wanted to try his paddling skills in a kayak, and ended up spending the majority of the day (even ate his lunch) in the kayak. We paddled all the way to the Oriental town dock and back!!!!

Lotsa fun.

Bridget's Birthday

Alright, I need everyone's help. Bridget's birthday was January 24th, and her grandmother passed away (82 years old) on this particular day so her birthday wasn't quite what it should have been. She knows I'm posting this, but I wanted to do it anyway, please, if you get a chance, send her an email, and wish her a happy b-day. Her email is budge1973@yahoo.com.

I just thought it might help make her smile.
This is a video of First Mate Morgan in training....complete with pirate sword. Max does some of the helm work to learn the boat. This just so happened to be in a narrow channel leaving our dock.... check out the intensity on this sailor's face.
We all kinda laid around lazy, and then took a trip to The Bean and got some ice cream....

Pictures of the anchorage from the bridge

On the way over to the anchorage we saw a few boats, one was an old woody, and the boys took off for a dinghy row over to the dock. They played in the grass and on the dock, and even found some pecans under a pecan tree that were pretty good.

Went to the Oriental Anchorage today, just for a bit of different scenery.... here's a video off the boat of the place, a really nice anchorage and more often than not on the weekends in the summer, they have a live band that plays at one of the local bars (The Tiki Bar) on the waterfront. We're just gonna relax today... and enjoy the sunshine and the peace and quiet.

Just An Idea

We're going to try something, and see how it goes. We are posting a "favorite stations" occassionally in our post. The station comes from Pandora.com and you simply go to "create a station" and type in the name to listen to the artist and artists that are similiar. It's a way of passing music that we like to listen to to our friends. Our ID on pandora is sailingmorgans@yahoo.com if you want to listen to what we are listening to right now! We'll continue to do our regular (or not so regular posts) posts along with the station of the day. Then we'll get sponsorships, and other big money deals, and be able to travel the world in our boat!!!!! Wooooohooooo!

Or we'll just listen to our tunes...
