New Kayaks and Boat Buiding 101

Max and Noah's went out on a kayak trip with Rusty and Luke and had a great time. Here's some pics.

After that we went over to Bob's place and the boys started building their first sailboat (a Puddle Duck Racer) with alot of guidance from Bob. We had a great time and made alot of progress. Check out some of the fun.

Check Out "The Moth"

New technology with a winged keel that has trim tabs that elevate the hull of the boat out of the water to reduce drag. What's that mean? MORE SPEED!

Windy Weekend

The winds were a little high, and Easter Sunday was chilly, but a nice weekend otherwise. We got to see Larry and Sam (and Daisy of course) Christen their new boat "Dragonfly". They spent some time on the hard fixin' her up, and now she's pretty much ready to go!

Bob and Molly are back. We went sailing on their little 16 foot Gloucester (that was really fun, responds to the wind quickly, little boats are awsome) and they went out with us on ours, and we got some video.

Jesse Martin - Australian Adventurer

We recently watched a great documentary about Jesse Martin, and his solo non-stop circumnavigation at the age of 17. If you can get your hands on this one, they did a great job.

Felt Like A Photograph

Went out today on the town and took some shots. They have a gathering of fishing boats in the harbor, (more than the usual amount) and some pelicans were hangin' out so I thought I could get some good shots. I also tried some abstract stuff, shot a whole bunch of garbage to get a couple of ok shots. Anyway, there they are. Click a photo if ya wanna see it better.

Working Weekend

Spent today installing an Autohelm that the late Phil Harwick gave us. The water's too low to take the boat out and give it a test, west winds are pretty steady, so we may wait and try it out tomorrow on the water if the water comes back up again.

Another thing to check off the "To-Do" list.
