Family Voyage

Well, it's Wednesday and we have had some great fun so far. At first, the thought of having 7 people aboard for a week seemed like it would be pretty challenging, but we are having a blast. We decided to spend an extra night in Ocracoke, because it was so nice. We did some shopping, ate skewered shrimp, veggies and banana's off the grill, and saw a Right Whale skull from a 60 footer . Stopped at the lighthouse and got some pictures. swam at the anchorage, played a pirate game called "Morgan's Revenge" and of course Grammy spent lots of quality time with the boys. We saw a beautiful sunset right across the bank from where we were docked (decided to dock after anchoring for the first night) and as always the lighthouse was beautiful at night. We left Ocracoke this morning and headed across to Belhaven and decided to stay at Dowry Creek Marina. Nice place, with a pool and a great view. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good place to stay up here. Anyway, it was almost a 12 hour sail across. Here's a bunch of pictures we took from Ocracoke and along the way. Eating like kings, and soaking every drop of it up!

This was a fire we saw on the way across from Ocracoke to Belhaven.

It was a pretty massive wildfire off Little Porpoise Point.

Everyone Has Landed

This beauty was leaving Silver Lake as we were entering, so Budge snapped a picture.

Well, everyone got here safe, and we left for Ocracoke yesterday. Winds were very light so it took us about 12 hours to get to Ocracoke. It was a relaxing trip over, saw a "flock" of stingrays swim next to the boat. Caught two bluefish.

Mom, Bro, and Unk

It's official, we are "On Vacation"! We are really excited because my mom, uncle Creig, and my brother Rick are all going to be making the long jouney down here (yep, they're driving) to come spend a week with us. We've been cleaning (Bridget, has been working like a mule, as well as the boys), varnishing, polishing, fixing, organizing, and getting ready. We are looking forward to taking the boat out for the week to "get away". We'll be sure to post when we get back, and possibly during the trip, if the connection's good, and we've got time.

Thanks to Mary Ann and Walt for letting us use their cooler, and Peter and Gale for loaning us their outboard for the trip, both of those items will certainly make the trip alot easier. Oh, and Jimmy (Aussie Jimmy) We miss you already! Glad to hear you've made it. I knew you would!

Voyages Begin and One Big Flounder

Well everyone has said their "goodbye's" and John and Mary, as well as Jimmy have left the building.... they are on their way.

Also, Noah went fishing today with Rusty and Luke and flound a big flounder...well, first he lobster, then he flounder.... so we are having fish tonight. We walked the fish around and showed it to everyone at the boatyard, he was really excited.
