Stuffy Noses and Sore Throats

Not that it's worthy of posting, but we've been passing around the crud for almost a week now. First me, then Noah, and now Budge.....Max is the only one left. Seems like this same thing happened last spring. Anyway....Budge made us home made chicken noodle soup for supper....it was yummy....I think we're gonna call it a night....hope all is well with everyone.

Before Dawn....

I caught this shot early this morning down at the waterfront on my walk with Noah. I thought it was kinda pretty and thought I would share it, one of the trees on the way to Lou Mac Park....Budge

A Hike On The Marsh

We recently had a picnic at a state park on a coastal marsh. While there we hiked 3 miles through a marsh trail near Swansboro. Bridget and I both took several photos, but of all of them, this one was the only one that turned out well. Budge caught this shot....Did you know that swordfish babies start in these marshes.....among many other forms of ocean life.

Our Neighbor "Blue"

We share our little creek with this Great Blue Heron we've named "Blue". He's a bit territorial, very loud at times, and intimidates our children for their bait....but he's a lot of fun to watch and we enjoy having him around. He must be getting used to us, because when I came out of the boat this morning he was sitting just a few feet away. He graciously allowed me to take a couple of photographs before he swooped over the creek to his favorite hunting spot. With his five foot wing span, it was quite a sight.

Our Friends Are Back

Bob and Molly spent another winter in the Canyon. They hiked for 28 days, through some of the most beautiful terrain I've ever seen (through pictures), ran into old Indian ruins and beautiful wildlife along the way. They traveled by train to get there, and had the opportunity to raft for two days on their way back after a month of hiking. When they arrived back here, it was raining and cold.
Welcome back, the sun will be out soon.

This is an old photo I wanted to repost. For those of you that don't know (We've recently registered on Facebook.com and ran across several people we haven't seen in years....decades even) this is Max and Noah....our boys. It reminds of a time when my brothers and I would pile blankets and pillows on the bed and we'd play pirates, our bed our trusty vessel, and everything on the floor was the raging sea.
