Weekend At West Bay

We had some guests with us this weekend for a trip to West Bay. My friend Mark, his girlfriend Brandi (I hope I spelled that right) and little Sarah all came along for a two night sail that took us to anchor at Turnagain Bay the first evening and then on to West Bay the next. We were accompanied by Narsilion, Nirius, and a new boat named "Doc"..... I'll post more pictures throughout the next few days, but for now, I'd like to show off a fantastic catch, all caught with a handline, on the way back....(we caught 7 fish on the way to West Bay) and alot of assistance from Mark, and the whole crew! Made a fabulous supper on the grill when we arrived back home....

Today At Work

These two photos were taken while working on the dock today....had the moth not landed right next to a dollop of bird poo, it would have been a great shot....
it's a peaceful place out there....only the sound of birds and quite a frequent jumping mullet flying through the air with the greatest of "plop"

Father's Day Sail In The Sandbox

We took the boys dinghy out for a sail down the waterfront today...Budge is making grilled lasagna (peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes all roasted on the grill, grilled sausage and mushrooms) and we're having our Australian friends Peter and Gail over for dinner....it's gonna be a good day! Happy Father's Day to all those that have been blessed with lil' dudes or dudettes...

I'm thankful to have two outstanding boys that make me very proud to be their father....I don't deserve to be this blessed!

Bridget Catches The Sun

My wife continues to take great photos....here's a few more! The big blue boat is "Nirius" our friend Chris's boat....15 foot beam on this baby!

Video Of The Outside Blue

This is video Bridget caught of the two boat that accompanied us on the trip up....Chris's boat "Nerius"and Joe and Cheri's boat "Narcilion"

More Pics From This Weekend

The boys wanted to get in on Josh's shark photo...they were excited!

Noah caught a strange fish with 6 legs, wings, and it changed colors...still unidentified after much searching on the web (update...Sam sent us info that identifies the fish as a Sea Robin)....Max was yelling "Cooooollll!" through his snorkel when "Tiger Barb" fish swam up to his hands. I dove on the prop and the shaft to check everything out....scraped the prop down....was fuzzy from barnacles, but the bottom looked pretty good considering...Josh caught a photo of the storm before it came over...at that time we had 1 reef in, keeping the boat comfortable...

Cape Lookout Weekend

We left the marina Friday night and got caught in a storm going across to Adams Creek....50+ winds according to our anameter, but luckily we had prepped the boat when we sighted the front behind us and stayed comfortable through the blow. Heavy rain when we pulled into the creek to anchor. Great trip from there the next morning, fantastic exit through the inlet and sailing up. Arrived to beautiful weather and clear green water, saw sea turtles all day every day we were there popping their heads out of the water to look at us on the boat, some of them were the size of card table, with heads as big as a volleyball. Snorkeled around the boat, spent time on the beach, Josh caught a shark, we marinaded in Pineapple marinade...cooked over a fire on the beach Sunday night. Delicious. Caught 3 Spanish Mackerel on the way back. Everyone had a wonderful time in wonderful weather... Here's some pics from the trip...
