The Morgan's Sailing Adventure: Jesse Martin

We recently watched a great documentary about Jesse Martin, and his solo non-stop circumnavigation at the age of 17. If you can get your hands on this one, they did a great job.

Sinking Thinkings

*Chart: A type of map that tells you exactly where it is that you've ran aground

*Propeller: Underwater winch designed to wind up at high speed any lines or painters left hanging over the stern

*Clew: Evidence leading to the recovery of a missing sail

*Canvas: An abrasive sailcloth used to remove excess skin from knuckles.

*Fluke - The portion of an anchor that digs securely into the bottom, holding the boat in place; also, any occasion when this occurs on the first try.

*My spouse has determined that I am the Captain of my ship.
