We picked up a mooring buoy and hung out in Beaufort for two days, relaxing, and enjoying the weather. We took a shower for the first time ever in the boat, (all I can say is, "man that was cold") and ate some great food (because my wife rocks on the stove.)

We saw the wild horses on Carrot Island (part of the Shackelford horses that swam ashore from sinking ships many years ago)behind the anchorage, and in the morning a gull came to visit us on our dinghy.

You can learn more about the wild Shackelford horses at http://www.shacklefordhorses.org/
